Priscilla Ogwemoh since 2000 has served as the Managing partner, Olisa Agbakoba Legal where she oversees the general administration and daily activities of the multifaceted law firm. Notably, Priscilla has been with the firm of Olisa Agbaokoba since 1992; becoming through her consistency and dedication to duty a pillar of a sort in this thriving legal business. A 1990 graduate of law of the Ahmadu Bello University, she was called to the Nigeria Bar in 1991 and obtained her Masters in Law (LL.M)from Lagos State University in 2002 with specialization in Maritime and Commercial Law. With over two decades experience in legal practice both local and internationally;she is an expert in shipping and admiralty law; dispute resolution, International trade and finance law, and real estate, among others.

For many years the editor of the Maritime delivered seminal papers on diverse legal issues at several for a,she boasts of diverse experience in corporate and commercial law practice and serves as Company Secretary to notable organizations across key sectors of the economy-banking, oil and gas, agriculture,property and shipping and transport.

This avid practitioner of arbitration and mediation is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitration of Nigeria, accredited as a mediator to United Kingdom Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution; (CEDR – UK) and is also a member of the Negotiation and Conflict Management Group (NCMG), and a legal adviser to the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC).

Unarguably one of the leading women mediators in Nigeria, she currently serves as the Director of the OA&A Arbitration and Mediation Centre which is the first law firm annexed ADR centre Nigeria. With her wide experience in alternative dispute resolution. She has engaged successfully in mediating prominent national and international disputes over the last 15 years. They include;the $8 million Walvis Vs Chevron dispute and the largest mediation settlement in Nigeria, between the Nigeria Security Printing and Minting Company (NSPMC)and its ex workers. An active member of the international Bar Association (IBA), and member of the Nigeria Bar Association Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL); on account of her activities in SBL, she was recently elected the Treasurer of the section of the Nigeria Bar Association.

Priscilla is also a member of the Maritime LAW Society, Institute of Directors (IoD), Women in shipping and Trade Association WISTA) AND Nigeria Institute of Management.

Priscilla is a judge of the International Law Students Association Jessup Moot Court Competition and has assessed several memorials in the competition since 2013.

Since 2014, Chief Ijeoma Uche-Okoro has served as the Director Legal Services, Federal Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry’s representative on the Board of the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA). Ijeoma Uche-Okoro started her career in the public Service with the Federal Ministry of Justice in 1987. In 30 years, she has built a career that is first among equals. She has worked in various Sectors of the public Service while being primarily a Director in the Federal Ministry of Justice. Between 1987 and 1992, she served at the Department of civil Litigation and Public Law-Federal Ministry of Justice Adviser; between 1992 and 1997, Assistance Legal Adviser-Federal Ministry of Power and Steel; and 1997 and 2000, Department of civil Litigation and Public Law-Federal Ministry of Justice. Before then, Chief Mrs. Uche-Okoro served for two years between 2000 and 2002 as Legal Adviser to the Presidential Liaison Officer, House of Representative National Assembly Earlier, she was Legal Adviser, Federal Ministry of Health 2002-2009; Legal Adviser-Federal Ministry of Information and Communication 2009-2011; Legal Adviser-Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs 2011-2014, and today, she is Director Legal Service-Federal Ministry of Transportation since 2014. Mrs. Uche-Okoro has served as a member and Chairman of several Ministerial Committee as well as a member of various Presidential and Inter-Ministerial Committees.

At different times, she has also served on the Boards of Federal Medical Centre-Lokoja (2003-2009), Nigeria Shippers’ Council(2014-2015), and on account of her professional learning, she is a member of the Nigeria Bar Association, International Bar Association, among others. Sylvia Asana Dauda Owu is a person of character and dedication to duty. She is unassuming, astute and first among equals when it comes to public service.

A woman of modest disposition to life, she is best described as a very dynamic and result-oriented individual with a zeal to impact society; and this was made manifest since 1993 when she joined the Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA).
Her presence is effervescence and her charm disarming, she makes no small any assignment and that is why she has remained the shining light of one of the continents’ most vibrant maritime agencies.

This obvious zeal and determination to assignment has not just endeared Sylvia to colleagues, it has equally made her rise through the ranks from just a freight & Research Officer to become the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) of the Authority, Ms.Owu was the Senior Freight Officer, Tema Branch From 2001-2002. She then became the Branch Manager, Takoradi Office, from 2002-2007 and the Head, Shippers’ Service Department from 2007-2013.
Prior to her appointment as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO), she was the Head of Freight and Logistics of the Authority. Ms Owu holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with Sociology from the University of Ghana Legon (1992);aMaster of Science in Shipping Management (Commercial) from the world Maritime University (in 1998) and an Executive Masters in Business Administration (Strategic Management & Consultancy) from the Paris Graduate School of Management, France.

Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, the second ever non-Nigeria inductee to the MMS Woman of Fortune Hall of Fame, Ms Sylvia Asana Dauda Owu.

Janet Adeyemi’s dedication to gender issues has taken her around the world through mobilization of Knowledge, strengthening capacities and support research that will increase women’s security and gender responsiveness of policies, programs and institutions. Apart from her commitment to Women in Mining, and Succor for Battered Lives; she also served on the Executive Board for Gift of Empowerment – a 501c non-profit in the area of International Development. This advocacy fervor is borne out of over 30 years first line direct experience at diverse levels in Legislative, commercial, environment, water resources management, engineering, humanitarian and political affairs in public and private arenas, both in Nigeria and across the continents. She is a graduate of International Centre for Gender, Peace and Security which is in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the UN Entity for Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment.
