Mrs. Ihuoma onyearugha is the Director Human Resources & Medical Chevron Nigeria Limited. She holds a B.S.c degree in Botany from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka before she proceeded to obtain Masters degree in Public Administration from the University of Lagos. Ihuoma is a member of several professional bodies, including CIPMIN, Global Human Resources Professional (GPHR)-SHRM (USA), including various Chevron Nigeria accredited training certificates. She also holds intermediate post graduate and graduate certificates and diplomas.

Ihuoma started her career at the University of Maiduguri as an Assistant Librarian, after she completed her one year mandatory NYSC, and was retained.

She resigned her appointment and later came to Lagos where she began a teaching paid job at Adeola Secondary School, Apapa, where she rose to become the Vice Principal, Academics. It was from there she again resigned to take up appointment with Chevron Nigeria Limited as a Human Resources Representative in February 1992.

She has held many positions in the oil company, including Benefits Supervisor, Recruitment Advisor, People Development Manager, HR Business Partner Manager-H/Qtrs, Senior HR Advisor-Chevron overseas, and California. When she returned to Nigeria in 2005, she was posted as HR Shared Services Manager, then Manager, HR Business Partner Services before becoming the Director, HR and Medical. Its significant to note that Ihuoma is the only female member of the Executive Leadership Team and first female to assume the title of Director, in Chevron Nigeria Limited.

In California, Ihuoma bagged a Corporate Award arising from her sterling performance as the team leader of an international project to customized leadership development program for the whole of Chevron Overseas Exploration and Production. Her teacher instinct has led her into writing, some of which has been published in some Nigerian dailies, including the Guardian newspaper, while she maintains a column in Chevron news.
