Between 2001 and this day, the Cargo Defence Fund (CDF) has given hope to many hopeless Nigerian Shippers through assistance in the pursuit of their claims recoveries and legal remedies. And this has been possible with purposeful leadership of Ms. Azuka Nkemdilim Ogo as the Secretary to the CDF.

Her battle against the crude injustice of some unscrupulous foreign Stockfish and Charcoal dealers against Nigerians in many countries of the world could not have been better described with less adjective than “Amazing”. No wonder she recently was honoured with a ‘Merit and Service Award’ for “Upliftment of Nigeria’s Economy through the Cargo Defence Fund, ”a project of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council(NSC) meant to help protect the interests of Nigerian shippers.

She is a committed Civil Servant and a Lawyer with result-consciousness. With a Masters Degree in Law, her areas of expertise include; Maritime and Aviation Laws, Dispute Resolution Mechanisms for International Trade, Policy making for international trade facilitation.

At the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) Maritime Law Institute, Malta, where she obtained her Masters of Law, Ms. Azuka won a prize for Best Maritime Legislative Drafting Project.
Before joining the NSC in 1988, she had worked with the Federal Ministry of Justice where she served as a Federal State Council and Assistant Legal Adviser.

A registered Consultant to IMO, she has Chaired the O.A.U. Meeting of Experts and served as Zonal Co-ordinator for five states of the federation under the NSC.
