Nigeria’s Nobel Laureate Prize winner, Prof. Wole Soyinka said in his “Jero and Metamorphosis” that ‘there are eggs and there are eggs’. Indeed, there are women and there are women. And this expression captures the personality of Mrs. Kofo Olugbesan, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer(CEO), Good Intentions Services Ltd., a Lagos based firm engaged in general maritime services

She is a woman of many firsts, with hard work, selflessness and integrity as the hallmark of her career and business life. She retired from the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS)as the first female Assistant Comptroller General(ACG) with record breaking performances in a world dominated by the malefolk. She became the first woman to be appointed Customs Area Administrator; first woman to be recognized by HER MAJESTY Customs and the United States Customs (DEA)for Drug Interdiction efforts in Nigeria; first woman to win the Ministerial Award as the Head of the Best Area in the Federation in the year in 1984 and the first woman to author a book on smuggling titled, “Smuggling, The Crime, The Law,” among others.

She was found worthy of being one of the wise women selected by the late Maryam Babangida to serve in the committee that mid-wifed the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and subsequently participated in the formulation of the National Policy for Women in 1992.

Her experience from the management of the Drug Unit at MMIA, Ikeja, between 1983 and 1987, came handy in her Memo presented through the Federal Ministry of Finance to the Council of Ministers on the need to establish the National Drug Enforcement Agency which was later established and called National Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA).

Right from the early days of her career in NCS, to her consequent retirement and qualification as a Barrister in Law, she has exuded an aura of calm and an underlying steely sense of resolve that no doubt propelled her to the heights of her career in the service and beyond.
Kofoworola Olugbesan, born to the Laja dynasty of Lagos, took advantage of her parental value for education and excelled academically in Science, Law and Tax Administration from the University of Lagos, Nigeria Law School and University of Los Ageles respectively.

Not tired of rendering selfless service to the nation, she contested for the Lagos state’s Central Senatorial District position.
She is currently a Director of BEECON Ltd as an investor in Bitumen Exploration and an Executive Director of the Institute of Customs Agents Affairs and Conflict Resolution as well as the Chairman of Apapa Community Security Trust Fund.
It is obvious that Mrs. Olugbesan is a bundle of knowledge with a distinguishing quality as INTEGRITY which is a factor that has earned her a place in MMS Plus’ Woman of Fortune Hall of Fame.

We welcome Keenly Kofo into the Hall of Fame.
