CORDIALIOUS CHINWE

Hon. Princess Clara Chinwe Nwaebili, is a former Commissioner for Transportation and former Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly. She is fondly called Ada di Igbo Mma 1 of Obosi; Ada Ugo of Ogbaru; Ugo eji eje mba of Abagana, Mmili oma Agulu, among others. Chinwe has the unassuming mien, humility and candor typical of a sound mind with which she has coordinated her colleagues in the Anambra House beyond the expectation of everyone who witnessed her swearing in.

Rt. Hon. Princess Chinwe Clare Nwaebili is a former Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly and former Commissioner for Ministry of Road, Rail and Water Transportation. Born on 16th May, 19971 to the family of His Royal Highness, Igwe Paul Udedike Afuberoh Eze Izagbo II of Ogbakuba in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State, she attended Queen Rosary College, Onitsha, and proceeded to Delta State University, Abraka where she obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Accounting.

Upon making a career in politics, with interest in legislative drafting, she sought more knowledge in legal profession as a result of which she obtained a degree in Laws (LLB) from Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu University in Anambra State.

Her political career trajectory which has been decked in fortune saw her occupying many positions across executive and legislative duties. She was a former member of transition committee Ogbaru Local Government Area Council in 2003; elected member representing Ogbaru II consistency in state House of Assembly, 2007; where she chaired different committees such as Housing, Environment, Public Account and Electoral matters.

She later emerged the Minority Leader, Anambra State House of Assembly; first tenure (2009-2011) and upon re-election, Chinwe was elected the Rt. Honorable Speaker of the House of Assembly (2011-2015). Subsequently, she became, President, Female Legislators State Houses of Assemblies in Nigeria (2011-2015) and would later emerge Chairman, Conference of Speakers, South-East zone.

The political fortune crowned her a member, Steering Committee, Common Wealth Parliamentarian of West African Region after which she was appointed first female Commissioner for Ministry of Environment, Beautification  and Ecology, Anambra State and later, first female Commissioner for Ministry of Road, Rail and Water Transportation, Anambra State between 2016 and 2017.

 Married into another royal family in Ogbaru, she has embarked on numerous empowerment programmes for women and the less privileged in the society.
